01What Sculptra is
Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid microparticles in a sterile carrier. Once injected into the deep dermis or supraperiosteal plane, the carrier is absorbed and the PLLA stimulates your fibroblasts to produce new collagen.
02Why it's different from filler
HA filler provides volume immediately — the product itself fills the space. Sculptra provides almost no volume on day one.
Over 3–6 months, your own collagen deposits in the area and builds the volume. This is why results look natural and last up to 2 years.
03Realistic timeline
Week 1: mild swelling, then nothing visible. Week 4: subtle change. Month 3: clear improvement. Month 6: peak result. Most patients need 2–3 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, depending on the degree of volume loss.
04Who it suits
Best for diffuse volume loss across the temples, cheeks and jawline — the kind that comes with age 40+. Not the right choice for point correction (lip enhancement, tear-trough hollow).
Patient must commit to 5-5-5 post-treatment massage protocol.
