Swelling, bruising, tightness and tenderness in the treated area are common in the first 3–7 days and are a normal tissue response. Dimpling, unevenness or thread migration are uncommon and can usually be corrected. Contact the clinic promptly if you have severe pain, unusual redness or swelling, fever or discharge. Side effects and suitability vary by individual, and the physician assesses you beforehand.

Keep the entry points dry for 24 hours and avoid makeup for 6–8 hours. Avoid facial massage, wide mouth-opening and firm pressure for about 2 weeks so the threads settle. Avoid heat, sauna and facial treatments for at least 2 weeks, and alcohol for 1 week. Sleep with your head slightly raised, use a cold compress if swollen, take any prescribed medication and attend your follow-up.
