Is laser hair removal safe for dark / Asian / Middle Eastern skin?+
Yes — Waleerat uses Candela GentleMax Pro specifically for this reason. It has both 755nm Alexandrite (lighter skin) AND 1064nm Nd:YAG (darker Fitzpatrick IV-VI skin). Many older lasers cause burns or hyperpigmentation on darker skin because they can't bypass surface melanin. GentleMax Pro's Nd:YAG is the only wavelength FDA-cleared as safe for all skin tones including Fitzpatrick V-VI. We've treated patients with the darkest South Asian / Sub-Saharan African / Pacific Islander skin tones without complications when proper protocols are followed.
How many sessions until long-term results?+
6-8 sessions spaced 8-12 weeks apart for the body, 6-8 weeks apart for the face. The reason it takes that many: only hairs currently in the active growth phase (anagen) are destroyed per session — about 20-30% of follicles at any given time. Sessions catch different growth-phase cohorts. After session 6, you typically have 80-90% long-term reduction; maintenance is 1 session per 12-18 months thereafter if any hormonal regrowth occurs.
