Before your appointment
- Complete the surgeon's eye, medical and anaesthetic assessment; disclose dry eye, vision problems, thyroid disease, medicines, supplements, smoking, allergies, previous eye procedures and infection.
- Only adjust medicine with the surgeon and prescribing clinician. Arrange transport and first-night support.
After treatment
- Follow the exact wound, ointment, eye-drop, cold-compress, head-elevation and dressing plan supplied by the surgical team.
- Protect the eyes and incisions from rubbing, contamination and strenuous activity until cleared.
- Attend every wound and suture review.

- Swelling, bruising, tightness, watering or temporary visual blur from ointment can occur early.
