Ellansé is a collagen-stimulating injectable of polycaprolactone (PCL) microspheres suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose gel, developed by AQTIS Medical (Utrecht, Netherlands) for Sinclair. The gel gives a soft, visible change on the day of treatment; over the following 8–12 weeks the PCL microspheres act as a scaffold for fibroblasts, building the patient's own collagen as the gel resorbs.
Only the S grade is registered with the Thai FDA, and it is generally maintained for 12–18 months. PCL has decades of medical history as a bioresorbable suture material, and both components are fully synthetic — no animal-derived material.
