Sculptra, Radiesse, Ellansé, Profhilo, Juvelook and Rejuran — how to choose
Six injectables, and the question is almost never which one is best. Three of them rebuild structure the face has lost. Three of them work on the quality of the skin itself. Those are different jobs, and the answer usually starts there.
The difference that matters
Sculptra, Radiesse and Ellansé are structural. They are placed deeper, and the body lays down its own collagen around the material. Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid and works gradually — it adds nothing on the day. Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite and Ellansé is polycaprolactone; both carry a gel that occupies volume from the day of treatment, with the collagen result building behind it. Profhilo, Juvelook and Rejuran are skin treatments. Profhilo is a hybrid hyaluronic acid used to hydrate and remodel, Juvelook is a PDLLA booster for glow and firmness, and Rejuran is a purified salmon-derived polynucleotide used for repair and texture. Skin treatments do not replace lost volume, and structural products do not fix surface quality — many patients are treated with one of each rather than choosing between them.

Which programme applies to you is decided by the physician at consultation.
Where most patients start
Most patients start on the skin side, where the commitment is smaller. Juvelook has the lowest entry price of the six at ฿1,999 per cc, and Profhilo is a fixed two-session protocol a month apart. Structural work is the larger decision — a single Radiesse syringe starts at ฿15,000, Sculptra and Ellansé at ฿25,000 — and it is normally planned once the physician has assessed how much volume has actually been lost. Rejuran sits slightly apart from both: it is chosen for repair, meaning acne scarring and under-eye texture, rather than for glow or volume. Individual results vary.
Which one for which concern
The calcium hydroxylapatite gel occupies volume from the day of treatment, and the collagen effect builds behind it over 8–12 weeks.
View programmePoly-L-lactic acid adds nothing on the day — the volume is collagen you build over 3–6 months.
View programmePolycaprolactone carries volume from the day, and the collagen result reads at month 3–4 and holds roughly 12–18 months with variant S.
View programmeA fixed two-session protocol of hybrid hyaluronic acid, one month apart, visible from about four weeks.
View programmeA PDLLA booster — brighter skin in around two weeks, with collagen-driven firmness peaking near eight.
View programmeA purified salmon-derived polynucleotide used for repair, run as a three-session course at three-week intervals.
View programmeCommon questions
- Sculptra or Ellansé — which should I choose?
- Both build collagen, and they differ in when the volume appears and how long it holds. Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid and adds nothing on the day; the result is collagen laid down over 3–6 months and it holds up to two years. Ellansé is polycaprolactone and carries a gel that occupies volume from the day of treatment, with the collagen result readable at month 3–4 and holding roughly 12–18 months with variant S. If a gradual change matters more than an early one, that points to Sculptra. The physician confirms which applies at consultation.
- How is Radiesse different from an ordinary filler?
- An ordinary hyaluronic acid filler is volume and nothing else — it sits, it is absorbed, it is gone. Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel: the gel gives volume the same way a filler does, and the microspheres go on stimulating your own collagen for 8–12 weeks after the gel itself has been absorbed. That is why one syringe is quoted at 18–24 months rather than the shorter figure a comparable HA filler carries.
- Profhilo or Juvelook?
- They are different materials working at different depths. Profhilo is a hybrid hyaluronic acid injected at set points to hydrate and remodel across an area, which is why it is the usual choice for neck and décolletage as well as face; it runs as two sessions a month apart and holds about six months. Juvelook is PDLLA — a collagen booster aimed at glow, pores and fine lines, with brightness at around two weeks and firmness peaking near eight. Patients wanting both firmness and surface refinement are often treated with one of each in a plan rather than choosing.
- Rejuran or Juvelook for acne scars?
- Rejuran is the one indicated for scarring. It is a purified salmon-derived polynucleotide used for repair, run as a three-session course at three-week intervals, with acne-scar improvement reported across a six-month course. Juvelook is a PDLLA booster and its strength is glow, pores and early fine lines rather than scar revision. Depth and type of scarring change the answer, so this is assessed in person.
- Can they be combined?
- Yes — structure and skin quality are different problems, so a plan that treats both is common rather than unusual. What is not done is stacking two structural products in the same area at the same visit. The physician sets which comes first and how far apart the sessions sit.
Bring the question to a consultation — the physician examines the layer that needs the work and says which of these it is.
